Until Stripe is connected, your students can only pay in cash, by check or by bank transfer, and you confirm every payment by hand. With Stripe, card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and SEPA direct debit are collected on their own, installments included.
1. What Stripe changes day to day
Stripe is the payment provider behind OSS Academy. Your students’ money lands on your Stripe account, then is paid out to your bank account. The student’s payment status updates without you doing anything.
It is also what unlocks installment payments and monthly memberships with automatic debit. Without Stripe, those options stay greyed out.
2. Pick your path
On your products page, the Connect your Stripe account card offers two paths.
Both buttons stay locked until the email address of your account is verified: click the link you received by email, or Resend in the banner at the top of the page.
I don’t have a Stripe account, then Create my account via OSS Academy: OSS Academy creates a Stripe Express account for you. Allow a few minutes, an ID document for the person in charge and the club’s IBAN. This is the path most academies take.
I already have a Stripe account: you connect your existing account. Your payouts and history stay where they are.
3. Finish onboarding and come back to the app
Stripe guides you on its own site, then sends you back to OSS Academy. If you closed the window halfway, the card shows Continue setup: pick up where you left off, nothing is lost.
Picked the wrong path? Start over with another connection method begins again from scratch.
4. Check that everything is ready
Once connected, the “Stripe not connected” banner disappears from your products. Then go through your payment methods to check that card payment is enabled under online payments.
Now create or edit a product: installment payment and online methods are available.
If Stripe still asks for information
Onboarding can stay incomplete when a document is missing: proof of identity, IBAN, club address. Stripe flags it by email and the card goes back to Continue setup. Until it is sorted, payments are accepted but payouts to your bank may be held.
