Classes

Edit, move, cancel or delete a class

Change a rule or a single session, reschedule a class, cancel it cleanly, and stop a slot without losing history.

A recurring class is a rule (the Tuesday 7 pm slot) and the sessions generated from it (Tuesday 9 September, Tuesday 16 September). Before acting, ask yourself whether the change applies to every upcoming session or to just one. The app offers both, and the distinction saves a lot of mistakes.

1. Edit the rule or a single session

Actions on a rule live behind the three dots at the end of the row.

  • Edit changes the rule: new time, new professor, new capacity. It applies to upcoming sessions, the attendance history of past sessions stays intact.
  • View classes lists the generated sessions. That is where you act on a single one.

For a permanent change (the class moves from 7 pm to 7:30 pm from September), edit the rule. For an exception (the coach is away next Tuesday), open the session.

2. Move a session

Open the session, then Edit class.

Change the class date and time. The original date stays displayed struck through, and a Back to original date button undoes the move. Enrolled students are notified of the change: no need to message them one by one.

Only this session moves. The following Tuesday stays at the rule’s time.

This screen is also where you attach teaching materials to the session: enrolled students find them in the class detail.

3. Cancel or restore a session

Cancel class is the right move for a public holiday, an unavailable room or a sick coach. The session stays visible, marked as canceled, and enrolled students are notified. Nobody shows up for nothing, and you keep a record of what was planned.

If things clear up, Restore class puts it back and notifies enrolled students again.

4. Delete a session

Delete class erases the session for good. Enrolled students are unenrolled and notified, and a student who had used a class from a pack gets it back. The action is irreversible: keep it for a session created by mistake. For a session that simply does not take place, prefer cancelling.

5. Stop or delete a rule

For a class that ends (end of season, dropped slot), open the rule with Edit and give it an end date in the End of recurrence block. Upcoming sessions disappear, but you keep the season’s history and statistics.

Delete on the rule also erases every upcoming session, with its enrollments. The app asks for two confirmations, because there is no way back. Use it only for a rule created by mistake.

What your students see

Every move, cancellation or restore sends a notification to enrolled students, and the session shows its new status in their agenda. A student who says they were not told probably had notifications off: the change is visible in their agenda anyway.
